Summary
This release enhances local development with improved email handling, experimental shared local storage, and FUSE-capable container development. It also consolidates development-only binding configurations and removes unsupported remote configurations for Workflow bindings.
⚠️ Breaking Changes
- User-provided Message-ID headers are rejected when replying to raw EmailMessage to enforce the use of a generated production-style Message-ID.
- Remote configuration is no longer supported for Workflow bindings. The `dev.remote` option is rejected, and the legacy `remoteProxyConnectionString` option is no longer exposed or converted. Workflows will now always use the local simulator.
Migration Steps
- When replying to raw `EmailMessage` handlers, remove any user-provided `Message-ID` headers.
- Update Workflow binding configurations to remove any `dev.remote` settings.
- If using shared local storage, configure `unsafeEnableSharedStorage: true`, `resourcePersistencePath`, `isolatedResourcePersistencePath`, and `unsafeDevRegistryPath`.
- For Hyperdrive, update remote binding configurations to use `dev.connectionString` instead of previous remote binding configurations.
✨ New Features
- Support for `EmailReplyMessageBuilder` in local email handlers, automatically generating recipient, threading headers, and a production-style Message-ID.
- Inclusion of a chronological list of handler events in email test harness results for programmatic assertion of message order.
- Support for Images data in experimental shared local storage.
- Support for Stream in experimental shared local storage.
- Enabled FUSE-capable local container development by automatically passing necessary Docker privileges to local Durable Object containers.
- Capture of locally sent and received emails, including forwarding, reply, rejection, and exception activity, accessible through the Local Explorer email API.
- Introduction of experimental shared local storage, allowing multiple Miniflare instances to read and write to a single set of local resources (KV, D1, R2, Rate Limits, Secrets Store).
- Consolidation of development-only binding configuration under a `dev` object, with `dev.remote` for remote bindings and `dev.connectionString` for Hyperdrive.
